Impacted Service Agreement

I hereby acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions concerning the grooming services provided to my dog/cat by Pappy Paws LLC:

1. Understanding of Double-Coated Breeds: I understand that my dog belongs to a double-coated breed, characterized by an undercoat and an outer coat. Examples of such breeds include, but are not limited to, Huskies, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds.

2. Importance of Coat Maintenance: I recognize the importance of refraining from shaving the coat of a double-coated breed, as it may adversely affect the natural insulation and protection of the dog against sunburn and skin damage.

3. Potential Issues from Shaving: Shaving a double-coated dog may result in:
o Irreversible damage to the coat and skin.
o Increased susceptibility to sunburn and skin irritation.
o Altered regrowth patterns of the coat.
o Potential discomfort and stress for the dog.

4. Issues from Coat Impaction: I understand that neglecting to address severe matting and tangling in said dogs coat may lead to:
o Discomfort and pain due to skin pulling.
o Increased risk of skin infections and irritation.
o Restricted movement and potential injuries caused by mats pulling at the skin.
o Difficulty regulating body temperature, potentially leading to overheating or discomfort.

5. Alternative Grooming Methods: I acknowledge that recommended grooming practices for double-coated dogs involve techniques such as brushing, combing, and undercoat removal to maintain the health and appearance of the coat.

6. Assumption of Risk: I acknowledge that despite the groomer's expertise, complications may arise when dealing with severely impacted coats. I assume all risks associated with the grooming of my dog and release Pappy Paws LLC, its employees, and affiliates from any liability pertaining to the condition of my dog's coat.

7. Authorization: I authorize Pappy Paws LLC to perform grooming services on my dog as they deem appropriate, including brushing and combing to address any mats or tangles in the coat.
By signing below, I confirm that I have thoroughly reviewed and understood the terms outlined in this agreement. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pappy Paws LLC from any and all liabilities arising from injuries, damages, or other losses that may occur as a result of grooming my dog.
