De-Matting Release
When pets present with matted coats, it necessitates additional time and careful attention during their grooming sessions. At Pappy Paws LLC, we prioritize the well-being and comfort of your pet, which is why we refrain from continuously de-matting them, opting instead to shave most matting. In instances where owners prefer to avoid shaving, the severity of the matting will determine our ability to proceed with grooming. It's crucial to recognize that leaving mats in a pet's coat can lead to serious health issues, including skin strangulation, compromised blood circulation to extremities, and the development of hidden sores.
The removal of severe matting can result in immediate effects such as abrasions or nicks, as well as subsequent issues such as skin irritation and self-inflicted abrasions due to excessive itching. While we make every effort to assess a pet's coat condition during initial checks, sometimes matting may only become apparent upon closer examination in our grooming van. In such cases, we will immediately communicate with you regarding the situation; however, if we are unable to reach you, our groomer will prioritize your pet's health and well-being based on their professional judgment.
By availing of our services, you acknowledge and accept that Pappy Paws LLC cannot be held liable for any immediate or subsequent effects resulting from the removal of matting from your pet. Additionally, the time and costs associated with de-matting are variable and contingent upon the condition of your dog's coat. Therefore, you agree to assume responsibility for any fees incurred as a result of de-matting procedures. It's important to note that the determination of whether your dog is matted rests solely with the groomer on-site, based on their expertise and assessment of your pet's coat.
